The painting “The Harvest, Allegory of Summer” by Pieter Brueghel the Younger will be displayed in Brussels at the end of January before being auctioned in Paris in April, Artcurial announced on Thursday.

The artwork is estimated to be worth between €1 million and €1.5 million. Artcurial in Brussels will exhibit the piece from 24 to 28 January. The auction will take place on 30 April and will include a collection of old and 19th-century paintings.

The auction, titled "Between Heaven & Earth, masterpieces from a French collection," features a selection assembled by a couple of collectors around the 2000s.

The collection primarily includes works from the Netherlands in the 15th and 16th centuries, Flanders in the 17th century, and Brittany at the beginning of the 20th century.

Approximately forty works will be up for auction. Among them are four oil paintings on panel by Pieter Brueghel the Younger, including the renowned “The Harvest” and “The Preaching of Saint John the Baptist”.

The auction also features two copper works by Jan Brueghel the Elder and older pieces such as “The Virgin and Child Surrounded by Musician Angels” by the Master of the Legend of Saint Lucy, offering a rare view of Bruges at the end of the 15th century.
