The Royal Meteorological Institute (KMI) has reported that temperatures will drop significantly in the coming nights, with temperatures in some areas potentially plummeting to -10 °C.
Saturday evening and overnight into Sunday will see heavy cloud cover with freezing fog, especially over central and southern regions. There could also be isolated winter showers. Minimum temperatures will range between -2 and -6°C. The KMI warns of possible slippery roads.
Sunday will be calm with many low clouds and some clear spells in the afternoon. There might still be some showers in the west. Maximum temperatures will range from -1°C, in the High Ardennes to 7°C, by the sea.
The night from Sunday to Monday will be variably to heavily cloudy, with freezing fog forming. However, the KMI expects wide clear spells south of the Sambre and Meuse rivers. Temperatures will drop to -1°C by the sea, -4°C in central areas, and around -10°C in the High Fens.
On Monday, low clouds and fog banks will linger stubbornly in many regions, possibly persisting all day. Notably, wide clear spells may appear south of the Sambre and Meuse rivers.
Where it remains grey, temperatures will stay slightly below freezing, while elsewhere they will range between 1 and 4°C. The KMI also forecasts continued severe frost overnight into Tuesday.
