A driver in Liège hit a pedestrian on Saturday and fled the scene before returning to allegedly run over the victim again, according to the Liège Public Prosecutor.
The suspect, born in 1995, was driving a van when he struck a man who ended up on the road. The driver fled but returned and allegedly hit the victim a second time.
The victim is reported to be seriously injured and was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
The suspect has been arrested and has reportedly confessed. There is also believed to be an accomplice. The driver has been charged with attempted murder and has been detained.
The public prosecutor will provide more information on Sunday.
