BASE has increased the mobile data quantities in its various subscription plans without changing the prices, the Telenet subsidiary announced on Monday.

This move is in response to the entry of the fourth operator, Digi, into the Belgian market in mid-December, which already prompted several other players to significantly revise their offerings.

From Monday, BASE subscribers, who already enjoy unlimited calls and texts, will receive 15GB instead of 8GB of data for the €15 plan, 50GB instead of 25GB for the €20 plan, 90GB instead of 50GB for the €29 plan, and 300GB instead of 120GB for the €39 plan.

The data offer will also be increased for independent professionals.

The operator is also introducing a lifetime promotion of a 25% discount on these prices for all new subscriptions made online between 13 January and 3 March.

Both new and existing customers will automatically benefit from this data boost. All subscribers will be informed via SMS and email in the coming days.

“This change aims to make our offer more competitive and meet the growing data needs of our customers,” explained BASE, noting an annual increase of over 30% in mobile data consumption.

A month ago, Digi created a stir in the Belgian telecom market with its offer of €5 for unlimited calls and texts and 15GB of mobile internet, all with a 4G connection. Since then, all operators have significantly revised the offerings of at least one of their brands.
