'Les Bains de Spa' luxury hotel project nears completion
Spa, Wallonia, is among Belgian cities included on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list

The city of Spa in Liège Province is about to witness a momentous event: the restoration of the luxury hotel 'Les Bains de Spa,' once a popular meeting place for noblemen and intellectuals, is coming to an end, Johan Van Wassenhove, CEO of the Denys Group, said during a press visit on Wednesday.

Designed in 1868 by Léon Suys, the architectural gem was recently listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is set to reopen on 1 March, concluding a project that began in 2009.

Renovated to respect the aesthetic and architectural criteria of its era, the hotel will feature 97 rooms and suites, a restaurant, a lobby bar, and a renowned spa with Roman baths and a jacuzzi.

The refurbishment also includes a new space— a paddock —dedicated to automobile enthusiasts.
