Dutch police looking for Belgian car after shooting near Maastricht

In the Dutch town of Noorbeek, near Maastricht and the Belgian border, a person was shot on the street on Thursday morning.

The victim was injured, according to the regional newspaper De Limburger. The police are searching for a car with Belgian number plates.

Residents reported hearing a gunshot and seeing someone run away. A Belgian car is believed to be involved, with witnesses stating the incident happened very quickly.

Regional broadcaster Heuvelland Vandaag reports that the police are looking for a grey/green Renault with Belgian registration plates. The driver is said to be wearing red clothing.

The victim has been taken to the hospital. No information is available yet regarding their identity or condition.
