Audi Brussels plans to take legal action after workers from suppliers blocked access to the car factory once again.
According to factory spokesperson Peter D’hoore, the protestors were very aggressive and caused damage.
Dozens of supplier workers are protesting for higher redundancy pay as they are also losing their jobs due to the factory’s closure.
D’hoore reported that they blocked all factory entrances around 05:15. They had previously blocked the factory on Friday as well.
In some cases, they prevented Audi Brussels employees from working under the threat of violence. Several entrances were forced open and damaged.
A session intended to help Audi employees find new jobs could not take place.
"This situation is unacceptable for us. We condemn any form of violence and damage to property and will take further legal steps," said D’hoore.
The factory management calls on the management teams and unions of the involved suppliers to negotiate a social plan.
"Audi will not intervene in this matter nor provide financial resources," stated the spokesperson.
