The Dutch electronics chain, Coolblue, sees potential for opening additional stores in major cities in Belgium, the head of the chain stated on Thursday.

Coolblue is well known for its online shopping platform. It currently only operates 10 physical stores in Belgium. This includes one in Brussels and Hognoul, with the remaining stores in Flanders. "People want to see the exact size of the television they are interested in," explained the manager of Coolblue Belgium, Arne Van Verdegem.

This year, Coolblue will open "at least" one more store in Belgium, located in Schoten, Antwerp region. "In the long term, we see room for additional stores in major cities," added Van Verdegem.

In 2024, Coolblue achieved a record turnover of €2.46 billion, an increase of 2.1%. Its operating profit reached €97.8 million, up nearly 11% compared to 2023.

The company experienced significant growth, particularly in Germany. In Belgium, which accounts for a quarter of the Dutch group’s revenue, the figures followed "the same trend," according to the company.
