Eurostar, the operator of high-speed trains, will not run direct services between Amsterdam, Brussels, and the South of France in summer 2025.
This has been confirmed by Eurostar following a report on the Dutch website treinreiziger.nl.
The ‘Eurostar Sun’ used to operate every Saturday for seven weeks during the summer months. It stopped in Valence, Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, and Marseille in France. However, this service will be suspended for now.
"Eurostar has decided not to operate the direct Eurostar Sun between Brussels and Marseille this summer," spokesperson Cordula Descheemaeker said. She added that Eurostar will focus on its main stations and routes between city centres such as Brussels, Amsterdam, Paris, Cologne, and London.
Travellers can still take the French high-speed train TGV Inoui directly from Brussels to the south of France.
The ‘Eurostar Snow’ to winter sports destinations in the French Alps is expected to run as usual during the winter.
Eurostar is partly owned by the Belgian railway company SNCB.
