International rail operator Eurostar has announced train traffic will resume as normal on Saturday on the Paris-Brussels and Paris-London lines.

It follows Friday's cancellation of all trains after the discovery of a Second World War bomb on the railway tracks near Saint-Denis in France.

The high-speed train operator cancelled all lines to or from Gare du Nord in Paris on Friday, namely the London-Paris, Paris-London, Brussels-Paris and Paris-Brussels routes.

"Eurostar will run two additional trains on Saturday: one train leaving London for Paris in the morning, one train leaving Paris for London in the afternoon," the railway company added in a statement sent to AFP.

Paris' Gare du Nord is one of the busiest stations in Europe, with more than 226 million passengers in 2023, according to figures from the French railway company, SNCF.
