Up to 15 centimetres of snow are expected in Belgium on Saturday night, according to the latest weather forecast by the Royal Meteorological Institute (RMI).

On Friday afternoon, there is a fairly low chance of rain, though a few drops are possible in the south-east of Belgium and at the coast.

Maximum temperatures between 7 and 11 degrees Celsius are expected.

The rain is expected to spread to more parts of the country on Saturday, with heavy rains across the country expected on Saturday evening.

Maximum temperatures will range from 4 to 9 degrees in the morning and are expected to drop to 2 degrees in the evening in the Kempen - a region in the provinces of Antwerp and Limburg -, and to 6 degrees along the French border.

On Saturday night, the rain is expected to turn into snow in the Kempen, and then over a large part of Flanders, with up to 15 centimetres of snow in the Kempen and 5 to 10 centimetres elsewhere.

Minimum temperatures will range from -2 to 4 degrees at night.

Sunday will be cloudy with lots of rain, while some more snow can be expected in Flanders.

Temperatures will range from 0 degrees in Flanders to 7 or 8 degrees in Wallonia, and they are expected to drop as the day goes on.
