Starting this week, Lidl will no longer distribute paper leaflets to households in Belgium, the supermarket chain announced on Monday.

Customers who wish to view the leaflet can still find it in stores.

The initiative is expected to save the company 1,000 tonnes of paper annually.

Since 2023, Lidl has gradually phased out home delivery of paper leaflets in major cities such as Ghent, Antwerp, and Brussels, as well as in some regions in the south of the country.

Over the past year, the retailer has seen a more than 15% increase in users of the digital leaflet, which can be accessed via the company's website and the Lidl Plus app.
