Four people were killed on Thursday in a cable car accident near Naples, Italy, according to local authorities.

The deaths occurred when a cable snapped, causing a cabin to plunge to the ground in Castellammare di Stabia, south of Naples.

According to initial reports, there were five people in the cabin: four tourists and a guide. One occupant sustained serious injuries. No information has been released regarding the victims’ identities.

Dozens of other people were stranded in their cabins due to the accident. They were rescued in an operation involving over 50 emergency responders, including helicopters.
