A man from Jemeppe-sur-Meuse (Liège) was handed a five year prison sentence, half suspended, by the Liège Criminal Court for rape, sexual assault and incitement to debauchery against three children.
The victims were his children and his partner's children. While the offences were reported in 2021, they took place several years earlier, when the victims were still minors. Some of the incidents occurred in the early 2000s, when the victims were six or seven years old.
The 61-year-old man denied all the allegations and claimed he was the target of revenge or jealousy. However, the court rejected his explanations and found the victims' statements credible.
The defendant was sentenced to five years in prison, half of which is suspended.
