The bankrupt home décor retail chain Casa is holding a final sale on Saturday in its stores located in Ghent, Ixelles, Waterloo, and Turnhout.
Given the success of previous sales, it is likely that more sales will be organised. Next week, the warehouse stock will be sold, with interest expressed by foreign companies.
The home décor chain, which has around 60 stores in Belgium, filed for bankruptcy in early March. Liquidators began sales in the top ten performing stores on 14 April. The sale concludes this Saturday, but the revenue generated remains undisclosed.
Casa also filed for bankruptcy in the Netherlands in early April, while aiming for a judicial reorganisation in France. Originally a Belgian chain, Casa was acquired by the Dutch Blokker family in 1988. In April 2021, it was sold to the Amsterdam investment group Globitas, which holds 51 percent of the shares, with the remaining owned by Dutch entrepreneur Frank Pruijn.
