The 13th edition of the Estivales de la Danse festival will take place on Thursday, 3 July at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, as announced by the organisers on Tuesday.
Previously known as the Hivernales de la Danse, this event will be held in the capital for the first time. Organised by former dancer Marie Doutrepont, past editions have attracted over 25,000 spectators in Liège.
Doutrepont has danced with several prestigious companies, including the Royal Ballet of Covent Garden in the UK, the Ballet du Capitole de Toulouse in France, and the Ballet of Flanders in Belgium, before launching the first gala in 2012. Since its inception, the gala has evolved into a festival enjoyed by both newcomers and seasoned enthusiasts.
The performance at Bozar will last two hours and feature a mix of classical and contemporary pieces, performed by around 15 artists from across the globe.
Notable performers include Belgian Marius Bado Rock, who trained at the Royal Ballet School of Antwerp and now dances with Codarts Dance Company in Rotterdam, star dancer Nicoletta Manni from La Scala in Milan, and American prodigy Kayla Mak.
A VIP experience with a gourmet dinner prepared by chef Jean-Michel Loriers will also be offered.
The event is scheduled for Thursday, 3 July at Bozar, and further information is available on the cultural venue’s website.
