An explosive attack occurred in Antwerp’s Deurne district, near the Sportpaleis, on Tweemontstraat during the night from Saturday to Sunday, as reported by the Antwerp police.
No casualties have been reported, but the door of a house was damaged.
Forensic experts and a team from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service (SEDEE) were dispatched to the scene to investigate.
Shortly after the incident, two suspects in a vehicle were apprehended. “Their involvement in the incident is currently under investigation,” stated a police spokesperson.
A similar attack occurred at the same location on Wednesday evening.
Antwerp has seen a rise in drug-related explosive attacks in recent years, as criminal groups increasingly target homes linked to the drug trade.
