The gynaecologist who raped a young patient in 2016 was sentenced to four years in prison by the Brussels criminal court this morning.
The judgement will also be sent to the Order of Physicians, which could choose to ban him from the profession.

The victim was in her early twenties when she was raped during a preoperative consultation regarding the removal of an ovarian cyst, reports La Libre.
Initially in shock, the woman filed a complaint a few weeks later. When the doctor learned of this, he invited her and her family to his office to apologize and explain that it was a “mistake.”
The conversation was recorded by one of the family members and played at the hearing.
