On Friday 23 July, the Royal Palace in Brussels opened its doors to the public in accordance with annual tradition.
Tickets are free but must be booked in advance through the Royal Palace website.
New this year is a walk through the courtyard garden, which the Royal Palace advertised on their website.
“You will discover the wondrous architecture of the Royal Palace via the impressive Honorary Vestibule and the majestic Honorary Staircase, designed by Alphonse Balat,” the website reads.
“You can admire the historic rooms, where various activities of the King and Queen take place every year. The Venice Staircase, where large oil paintings with views of Venice by Jean-Baptiste van Moer hang, are also on display during the visit. This year’s route also takes you along the garden behind the Royal Palace.”
The visit concludes with a short walk through the garden behind the palace.
Also new is the compulsory online reservation via the Royal Palace website, because only a limited number of visitors are allowed in order to adhere to social distancing measures.
Booking on site is not possible.
Due to coronavirus measures, there are no exhibitions in the salons this year.
