A minor has been judicially arrested during the riots that broke out after the march against the coronavirus measures in Brussels on Sunday, according to the Brussels public prosecutor's office.
The young man has been handed over to the public prosecutor, and the investigation is still ongoing, according to spokersperson Martin François. "Among other things, an analysis of the visual material is taking place," he said.
Some 8,000 people took part in the demonstration that passed through Brussels on Sunday, according to a police count.
The demonstration went largely without incident, but groups of participants sought confrontation with the police afterwards, resulting in the police responding with a water cannon and tear gas.
Four demonstrators were injured, as were two police officers. A total of 20 people were administratively arrested during the riots, and released a few hours later.
