Belgium's Consultative Committee will meet again on 22 December to assess the evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic in Belgium and the measures needed to contain it, a government source said Thursday.
The previous meeting, held last Friday, had already indicated that the next meeting would be organised during the week of 20 December, Belga News Agency reports.
During the previous meeting, the committee decided, among other things: to impose the wearing of masks from the age of 6; to switch to a hybrid model of secondary education; to close nursery and primary schools from 20 December. For the full list of measures, click here.

As previously reported, the idea of a 'coronavirus barometer' will again be considered at the next meeting. The barometer will give people a better understanding of when and why new measures are taken, with the tool linking restrictions to certain thresholds: as soon as a certain number of beds in intensive care is occupied, a fixed set of measures is activated.
"Such a barometer is now indeed in the works," Gudrun Briat of the Corona Commissariat confirmed to The Brussels Times. It will be presented when it is ready but an exact date has yet to be fixed.
Belgium is facing a fourth wave of the coronavirus pandemic, even though the peak of contaminations and hospital admissions seems to have passed. A total of 3,517 people are still hospitalised in Belgium due to Covid-19, of which 825 are in intensive care, according to the latest data from Sciensano.
On average, more than 16,000 new infections are detected every day.
