Hidden Belgium: One of the world's best Gueze beer

When the Oud Beersel brewery closed down in 2005, it looked like the end of the road for its distinctive Lambic beer.

But two young enthusiasts have revived the brewery founded in 1882 and won several international awards for their outstanding Oude Geuze Oud Beersel, including “world’s best Geuze” at the 2011 World Beer Awards.

Served in a chunky glass tumbler, this sour, complex beer has a rich flavour from the cherries fermented in oak barrels.

Pick up a few 75cl bottles to serve to your friends as the calendar flips to 1 January 2022. Happy New Year.
