German car manufacturer Opel is recalling 570,000 cars of its Insignia model worldwide due to a risk of rust on the rear axle tie rods, it said Tuesday.
In Germany, 113,000 cars of the Insignia A model, built between December 2007 and July 2013, are affected, according to the Federal Motor Transport authority (KBA) database, which lists 10 cases in Germany where the tie-rod arms broke, reports the Belga News Agency.
So far, no incidents involving material or physical damage have been reported as a result of the defect, a spokesperson for the manufacturer said.
The workshop inspection, which is free of charge for the customer, is estimated to take about 10 minutes.
