Following Russia's move of military forces into Ukrainian territory on Monday, the United Kingdom has announced sanctions on Russia, with European Union leaders considering their next move.
The British government's security cabinet is meeting Tuesday to decide the severity of sanctions, the BBC reports. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the UK will "hit Russia very hard."
The EU also is considering imposing sanctions on Russia. The foreign ministers of the 27 EU Member States are attending a previously scheduled forum in Paris to discuss cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.
