The 14th edition of Film Festival Ostend (FFO) got off to a start on Friday evening with the film “Nowhere,” by director Peter Monsaert, who graced the festival’s red carpet, along with the film’s actors.
A total of 74 feature films and 16 short ones will compete in the festival from 4 to 12 March. Over 90 national and international guests will also present their work, Belga news agency reported.
Filmmakers who will be doing so include Peter Monsaert ("Nowhere"), whose cast features Koen De Bouw, among others. Bouli Lanners will present his film, "Nobody Has to Know", with Michelle Fairley, better known as Catelyn Stark in "Game of Thrones". The stars of the "Two Summers" series will also be there.
The festival will end with the film "Zeppos."
In a sign of solidarity with the people of Ukraine, this year’s FFO will feature “Donbass” by director Sergei Loznita. Proceeds from ticket sales will be used in support of Ukrainian refugees.
