Close to 1.37 million people have fled Ukraine since the start of the Russian invasion 10 days ago, according to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Belga News Agency reports.
UNHCR said on its dedicated website that the number of refugees had reached 1,368,864 by 1.15 pm Brussels time on Saturday. This was about 160,000 more than the previous count, on Friday.
The Ukrainian authorities and the United Nations expect the numbers to go up as the Russian army continues to advance in Ukraine and intense fighting continues around the capital, Kyiv.

UNHCR tweeted on Saturday that unless the conflict is ended immediately, millions more will probably be forced to flee.
According to the United Nations, four million people may still want to flee the country to escape the war.
Before the conflict, Ukraine was home to over 37 million people in across the country. This figure does not include people in the Crimea, annexed by Russia, or in areas in the eastern regions of Donetsk and Luhansk under the control of pro-Russian separatists.
