Registrations for the 42nd edition of the 20km of Brussels, which is expected to take place on Sunday 29 May, will open on Friday 1 April.
After two years of the sporting event not taking place or taking place in a hybrid format, the City of Brussels has confirmed that the event will go ahead this year on Sunday 29 May 2022, adding that it is limited to 40,000 participants. The price per ticket is €25.
"The City of Brussels is delighted that this event, which both the people of Brussels and the associations look forward to, is back on the agenda for the last Sunday in May, as it has been in the past," Philippe Close, Mayor of the City of Brussels, said in a statement.
Since last year, walkers are also invited to take part in the event and follow the same route, which includes some of Brussels’ best scenic spots. As always, people with a handicap can also take part. The time limit to complete the course this year has been capped at five hours, down from the six hours in 2021.
"The health situation has calmed down somewhat over the last few weeks: the return of the 20 km through Brussels at the usual date and in its classic form is a symbol which we are very happy about," Benoit Hellings, councillor for sport for the City of Brussels said.
"40,000 participants will once again have the pleasure of improving their records or simply to reach the finish line at their own pace along a fantastic route."
Registrations open this Friday 1 April via the event's website or at the organiser's office (Kapellestraat 17, 1000 Brussels).
