Filming yourself committing a traffic offence and then publishing the video on social media is a punishable offence and will be strictly controlled from now on, according to Valérie De Bue, Wallonia’s Minister of Public Service, Tourism, Heritage and Road Safety.
This has already been illegal for some time, Le Soir reports, but since the tragedy in Strépy-Bracquegnies, controls will be increasingly enforced.
The driver who caused the tragedy in Strépy-Bracquegnies had filmed himself speeding on his way back from the nightclub shortly before the incident and posted the videos on his social networks.
As of now, De Bue said sanctions will be implemented more systematically.
