Travelers at Brussels airport experienced severe delays this morning from 06:00 after baggage handler Aviapartner spontaneously decided to strike. The strike ended at around 09:00, according to trade union official Kurt Callaerts.

"The workers are going back to work," said Callaerts. "Measures to reduce workload are being looked at (such as planning breaks...). Additional consultation next week."

Passengers at the airport were affected, with flights delayed at around 07:30 for almost two hours. TUI flights were particularly disrupted. An airport spokesperson confirmed that Aviapartner is also responsible for handling Ryanair and Lufthansa flights, reported De Morgen.

Brussels Airlines doesn't work with Aviapartner and hasn't been impacted by the strike, a spokesperson said. However, they noted that flights that don't depend on Aviapartner may also have been affected due to disruptions on the tarmac.
