Two men were taken to hospital following a stabbing and gunshot in Molenbeek, near Rue de l'Intendant at around 13.30 on Thursday. One man was stabbed, while the other was shot in the foot.
A police security zone was established and both the anti-banditry brigade and the prosecution service attended the crime scene.
Local police are actively looking for witnesses. Several gunshot holes were identified in the chassis of a nearby car. Investigators are assessing the circumstances of the incident and trying to determine whether the bullets were fired from a fleeing automobile or by one or more pedestrians.
Some are questioning whether this is related to a vendetta that has been ongoing in the area since September. "It is too early to say," a police official told Le Soir, "it is hard to know if this is part of a vendetta."
