On Tuesday, Belgium's Defence Minister Ludivine Dedonder will pay a visit to Belgian troops in Romania.
Around 300 Belgian soldiers, mostly infantrymen from the 1/3 Lanciers battalion, have been deployed to Romania as part of NATO's reinforcement of their eastern flank following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
This followed NATO's decision to station four extra 'battlegroups' along the alliance's eastern flank in Bulgaria, Hungary, Slovakia, and Romania, in addition to the four currently present in the Baltic States and Poland.
