A long traffic jam built up on the E40 motorway between Ghent and Brussels after an accident at Groot-Bijgaarden, a Flemish suburb of Brussels.
The Flemish Traffic Centre reported that a truck had crashed into the tail end of a traffic jam shortly before 09:30 on Thursday morning.
The pile-up involved two trucks, two cars, and two vans, but thankfully no one was injured.

Several vehicles had to be towed away as a result of the collision and traffic was disrupted. Only one lane remained free towards Brussels, before being reopened at 10:50.
