Mick Jagger, the singer and frontman of The Rolling Stones, visited several locations in the centre of Brussels on Sunday, before the band's show at the King Baudouin stadium on Monday evening.
Via his official Twitter account, Jagger (78) made it clear to the Stones fans that he is all set for tonight's performance and posted some photos of him being a tourist in Brussels yesterday.
In the photos (from left to right), Jagger is posing by the Blondin et Cirage comic book wall in the Rue des Capucins, sipping a cocktail at La Pharmacie Anglaise on Coudenberg, standing on the Place Sainte-Catherine and singing with the statue of Jacques Brel at the Vieille Halle aux Blés.
"Had a great time exploring Brussels, looking forward to seeing you tonight at King Baudouin," he said.
The singer was seemingly able to walk the streets relatively easily without being recognised. In the photo at the Place Sainte-Catherine, the people in the background do not seem to be aware of who is posing so close to them.
Tonight, the Rolling Stones are playing at the King Baudouin stadium as part of their "SIXTY" tour, celebrating their 60-year career. However, the concert is not yet completely sold out, likely due to the extremely high ticket prices, ranging from €69 to nearly €500.
On Sunday evening, a video starring Brussels also appeared on the band's social media accounts, showing the European institutions, the Palais de Justice and a number of shots of the city centre to the tune of the Stones' "Beast of Burden."
The Brussels public transport company STIB also took advantage of the Mick Jagger photo series on Twitter with the message "you forgot this pic, Mick," accompanying a photoshopped photo of the singer in a metro carriage.
Not long after, however, STIB tweeted a photo of Jagger standing next to one of its buses. The picture has drawn a lot of attention on Twitter, with users pointing out the fact that he posing next to a pile of rubbish bags.
