The Dour Festival is back after a two-year absence due to the Covid-19 health crisis. Its 32nd edition kicks off on 13 July.

The musical event, created in 1989 and held for the third time at the site of the wind turbines of Dour-Quiévrain, will feature 250 artists performing on eight stages.

The main stage, known as the “Last Arena”, has a capacity of 20,000 spectators. The others are the “Balzaal,” “BoomBox,” “Lab,” “Rockamadour,” “La Petite Maison dans la Prairie (Little House on the Prairie),” “La Chaufferie (Boiler Room)” and the “Dub Corner”.

The official launch of the festival takes place in the late afternoon of 13 July on four of the eight stages. To highlight the return of the summer festivals, the organizers of the event are offering a three-day “warm-up” involving sound systems.

This new addition to the festival will last from Monday to Wednesday at the Festival site. It will feature groups such as the Brussels collective 54 Yard, Ile-Legal, No Name, and Underground Drum & Bass.

Artists scheduled to perform on the eight stages of the Dour Festival include DJ’s Flume, Laurent Garnier and Vladimir Cauchemar, as well as Booba, Angèle, Roméo Elvis and Vald.

The 2019 edition of the festival drew some 50,000 participants each day. This time around, the organisers have announced about 40,000 campers.
