With the forecasted rise in temperatures, staying hydrated is essential to one's wellbeing. To avoid dehydration during a heatwave, aim to consume over 2 litres of water in a day.
Today, 12 June, Meteo Bruxelles predicts temperatures to hit a high of 30°C. While it may cool down over the weekend, next week will begin with highs well over 30 C, with a possible 38°C on Tuesday, 19 June. This forecast still has time to change, but being prepared in case a heatwave is in our future is a good way to stay proactive.
Though sometimes hard to find, the Brussels Region has multiple public water fountains for passers-by to quench their thirst, and the region continues to add more to account for the rise in temperatures.

The list on the following map includes about 100 water fountain locations throughout Brussels and the surrounding municipalities. Though, it may not be all-inclusive, as the city has been working toward installing more public water fountains, with the goal of adding 100 more by 2025. 28 of these should be installed by the end of this year.

For those travelling during the peak of the heat, the Brussels Airport recently added a refillable water station at Gate A45. Eurostar also installed a water fountain back in March 2020.
