During the night from Saturday to Sunday, a fireworks bomb exploded at a house in the Winter De Dekenstraat in the Antwerp district of Berchem.
A few parked cars and the front of a house were damaged. The family to whom the attack seems to be directed, was earlier also victim of a grenade attack.
According to the local police, the attack happened around 01:00, when a heavy fireworks bomb damaged the front door of a house, a driveway and several cars in the area. The bang could be heard in the sleeping residential area up to several streets away.

In front of the family home, the debris still lies in front of the door. A security camera was ripped loose by the blast. The family is on holiday, neighbours told De Morgen.
The day before, there had also been a settlement in the drug world in another Antwerp district, Deurne: a man of presumably Dutch origin was shot dead in the street.
