Brussels Mobility, the regional mobility agency, is urging young people not to allow their friends to drive while intoxicated, whether by vehicle, bicycle, or scooter.
Brussels Mobility has borrowed inspiration from successful superhero movies to convey its message to young people.
According to them, "friends, like superheroes, never give up and look after one another during the evening."
If you watch Marvel's latest superhero outing Ms Marvel, you will not find her allowing one of her companions to assist her in fighting crime while inebriated.
Reasoning behind the campaign
But why combat drink-driving in particular?

According to Brussels Mobility, the first drink of alcohol increases the likelihood of a serious accident by 200, and this increase is multiplied by 200 when mixed with other substances.
This is especially true in Brussels, where the number of offences related to alcohol and drugs while driving is higher than in other regions, especially during the holidays.
The agency's advice
As a result, Brussels Mobility has issued guidance to any drivers who have been drinking on night outs.
On the one hand, they should always arrange their trip home in advance, whether by taking public transport, staying the night at the place of the party, or selecting a 'Bob' (a person who has not drunk in order to drive people home).
On the other hand, the agency does not believe scooters and bicycles are the solution because driving under the influence of any vehicle is dangerous to both oneself and others.
They concluded by reminding any potential drunk drivers that driving under the influence of narcotics is punishable by instant license revocation.
