Over 200 firefighters were mobilised in the Saxon Switzerland National Park to fight the major fires that have engulfed eastern Germany.
Last weekend, a major forest fire started in the Czech Republic and Switzerland, before spreading to Germany on Monday.
On Thursday evening, new pockets of fire were discovered beyond the Kirnitzsch, which is a stream of the River Elbe.

Firefighters had hoped that the water would prevent these fires from spreading but up to 250 hectares of forest have since been burned.
As a result, over 220 firefighters were mobilised on Friday morning with additional personnel arriving from all over Germany during the day.
A total of seven helicopters are to be deployed, with two of them being used to recognise the fires through thermal cameras.
