Inflation in the eurozone has reached a year-on-year record high of 8.9% in July, compared to 8.6% in June. This is according to a rapid estimate done by the European statistics office Eurostat on Friday.
This record high has impacted the cost of energy the most, followed by food, alcohol and tobacco prices. In Belgium, the level of inflation reached 10.4% in July, o.1% less than in June.
