A 23-year-old woman from Flanders was shot in the neck while studying in her garden last Wednesday. However, her response to the incident was a little unusual.
The student felt a sharp pain in her neck while revising at her house in the Flemish town of Keerbergen. She then noticed a bleeding wound and cycled to be consulted by her GP.
Her doctor could not find anything and, as a result, she was subsequently rushed into hospital.
