On Sunday morning, five individuals were taken into hospital when their vehicle collided with a tree at a motorway exit in Tournai.
At around 06:30, local emergency services were called to a traffic collision on the A8/E42 motorway at the Froyennes exit.
Firefighters discovered that a car carrying five people had crashed into a tree, the cause of which is being investigated.

The automobile, which was registered in France, was on its way to Chaussée de Tournai when it crashed into the tree.
Three of the five passengers were critically injured and two were mildly hurt; they were all sent to hospitals in Tournai, Mouscron, and Kortrijk.
