After Facebook users experienced a completely different news feed than usual on Wednesday morning, the social media platform's normal timelines have been restored.
Those who went on Facebook on Wednesday would have expected to see what they are used to seeing: posts and messages from friends, announcements from pages they follow, such as musicians and companies, and adverts in between.
Instead, people were bombarded with messages from strangers on the profiles of the pages they follow, which meant that individuals who followed prominent bands and actors on Facebook only saw posts from their fans in their feed.
