On Wednesday evening, a 52-year-old woman was stabbed to death in a family setting in the Antwerp municipality of Kiel, according to local police.
The incident occurred in the Woonhaven council housing block, and the victim died as a result of her injuries, despite emergency services attempted to resuscitate her on site.

The assailant has since turned themselves into police custody, and the stabbing is believed to have occurred in a family context.
