A fire broke out on Sunday afternoon in an unoccupied office building on Rue Colonel Bourg in Evere. Thankfully, no one was injured but the building did suffer significant damage.
The Brussels Fire Brigade were called upon at around 16:00 by a neighbour who had witnessed smoke coming out of the building.
Once they arrived at the site, they noted that the third floor had been ravaged by the fire, in a room filled with mattresses and sleeping bags.
“In all likelihood, the building had once again been squatted and it is undoubtedly there that the cause of the fire should be investigated,” a spokesperson for the Brussels Fire Brigade told Belga News Agency.
