A car crashed into Ukrainian President Zelenskyy's car after a visit to a recaptured city.A spokesperson said that he was not seriously harmed, but gave no details as to the injuries the president may have experienced.
Zelenskyy was en route back to Kyiv from the Kharkiv region in the northeast, where he visited forces in the recaptured city of Izium. A passenger vehicle hit the president's motorcade in Kyiv, said the president's spokesperson, Sergii Nikiforov, in a Facebook post.
The driver of the car received first aid from Zelenskyy's medical team and was taken away by ambulance. Medics examined the president, who suffered no serious injuries. The spokesperson added that "all the circumstances of the accident will be investigated by law enforcement."
Zelenskyy was slightly late in posting his nightly address, possibly because of the crash.
Earlier on Wednesday, Zelenskyy visited the eastern city of Izium after it was recently recaptured from Russian occupiers. Russian forces retreated from the war-torn city last week in the momentum of Ukraine's counteroffensive in the northeastern Kharkiv region.

European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen was in Kyiv on Thursday for her third visit to stress the EU's support for Ukraine. It was a key theme during her State of the Union address on Wednesday.
In his nightly address, Zelenskyy said "Today was almost a Ukrainian day in Brussels," adding that "for the first time in the history of the European Union, a country from outside the EU was actually represented at a special session of the European Parliament during the annual State of the EU report — this is our country … I thank Mrs. Ursula von der Leyen, I thank all our friends in the European Union for their unwavering support."
