The 'Plantjesweekend of Kom op tegen Kanker' (the plant weekend of stand up against cancer) starts today (Friday). Enthusiastic teams of volunteers take to the streets of Flanders on September 16, 17 and 18 and sell azaleas to raise money for Kom op tegen Kanker.

During the annual Plantjesweekend, many volunteers sell the Ghent azalea, “a real Flemish regional product”, according to the organisation. The teams will sell the plants at shops, markets, and from homes.

“After two special corona editions, there will be no more online sales this year and we are once again counting on the friendly charm of our plant teams!”
