The film 'Close' by Lukas Dhondt will represent Belgium at the Oscars, Flanders Image announced in a press release on Friday.
The feature film, winner of the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival, will compete in the international feature film category at the 2023 Academy Awards.
"Close" is a film about friendship and responsibility. It tells the story of two thirteen-year-old best friends whose seemingly unbreakable bond suddenly and tragically breaks apart.
