Munich's famous beer festival, Oktoberfest, kicks off on Saturday 17 September after a two-year hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Its last event in 2019 attracted some six million visitors and lasted for almost two weeks. Organisers for the 2022 edition are hoping to attract even more visitors.
On site, dozens of larger and small tents are set up to accommodate fans of beer, with huge folding tables arranged spanning several meters. In addition to tasting specialties from Bavaria, visitors can dance to popular tunes from this region of Germany.
But the party wouldn't the same without the traditional ' dirndl ' and ' lederhosen ', a lace-up bodies dress for women and leather pants for men.
The event will include several ride such as roller coasters and a Ferris wheel. Further to this, participants can enjoy gingerbread hearts hanging from fairground stalls and roasted almonds.
