Open Cinema campaign to start in Brussels on 1 October

About twenty cinemas over 11 cities, will participate between October 1 and 6, 2022 in the Open Cinema campaign, the Flanders Audiovisual Fund (VAF) announced on Monday.

A wide range of new films, rare gems and inspiring programs will be presented under the slogan “Enter and discover where the passion for cinema lies.”

Depending on the location, the screenings will be complemented by introductions, workshops, exhibitions or even guided tours. Tickets will be either reduced or free in most cinemas during Open Cinema days.

Where?

In Brussels, the participating cinemas are the Nova, Palace, Aventure, Galeries, Cineflagey and RITCS cinemas,

In Flanders the following venues are: BUDA (Kortrijk), Cinema Cartoon’s (Antwerp), Cinema Storck ( Ostend), De Cinema (Antwerp), Cinema ZED (Leuven), Cinema ZED (Hasselt), Filmhuis Mechelen (Mechelen), KASKcinema (Ghent), Lumière Antwerpen (Antwerp), Lumière Brugge (Bruges), Lumière Mechelen (Mechelen), Netwerk Aalst (Aalst), Sphinx Cinema (Ghent), Studio Skoop (Ghent) and The Roxy Theater (Koersel).

Open Cinema was created with the support of the VAF as part of the Flemish government’s “Vlaamse Veerkracht” (“Flemish resilience”) recovery plan. (
