Telenet, Belgium's largest internet and cable provider, has announced the establishment of the first Belgian television channel exclusively devoted to women's sport, which goes on air on Friday.
W-Sport will focus on broadcasting women's and international sport competitions. In the channel's programming, viewers will see matches from most European football leagues, the PAC12 collegiate basketball league, as well as triathlons, boxing, and horse riding.
"We are placing the emphasis on women's sport and responding to its rising popularity in our country," said Stefaan Kestens, CEO of Play Sports, Telenet's group of TV channels.
